Only a 10 min tram ride, tram 26, will take you to/from the busy city center life.
If you arrive at Schiphol airport we advise you to take a train to Amsterdam Central Station. - Be careful you are not going to Centraal Station Utrecht!
You can buy a trainticket at the airport and also a (24 hrs.) tramticket in the tram. / You can also buy different public transport cards at the tourist office at Schiphol@ arrival terminal 2.
It is reliable, easy and cheap to take the train and tram, KLM pilots who live on Steigereiland do the same.
From Central Station: Tram 26, you have to get out at the stop called Steigereiland. It's the 1st stop on IJburg, after the white bridge. The first tram is at 6 am, the last tram goes till a little after midnight.
Lieve Nachten is located at the first street on your right side.
Amsterdam has the policy to bring everybody home the whole night through - you can take bus 359 in front of the church on Central Station to IJburg.
You can also take a taxi from Schiphol airport. It will cost you about € 55 in total. Be careful: please tell them that you want to go to Ijburg for 55 euro, A10, S114: Steigereiland, first street right side, after the white bridge.
Taking a taxi from Central Station: Be careful, drivers can be grumpy and rude: make sure it's not more than 17,50 euro.
